Every business needs design

We instinctively know when something has had professional, targeted, time and attention bestowed on it, we also instinctively know when something has simply been thrown together in a quick attempt to save money and time.

I suppose the question then is; how does this makes you, as a customer, feel?

Does it make you want to buy the product? Does it excite you and make you feel really positive about your purchase? Does a local advertisement that feels thrown together make you take the company / product / brand seriously?

I don’t know about you, but I tend to get a negative feeling from the first moment. I disengage with the potential of the product and usually choose to spend my money elsewhere.

Somewhere deep in my bones I know that if someone really believes in their product or service, they will spend time themselves and will pay professionals to spend dedicated time and attention to design all the way through from product aesthetics, packaging and advertising and all the way to aftersales care 12 months down the line to make the thing that they are selling a success.

We feel this and on a basic level understand the argument, but when was the last time you took a look at your business, product or service in this light?
